This unique and historic ballpoint pen made from reclaimed certified wood from seats installed at Ebbets Field, The wood is hand turned by me in my own workshop and this is the actual pen you will receive.

Ebbets Field was a Major League Baseball stadium in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn, New York. It is known mainly as the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers baseball team of the National League, from 1913 to 1957, but was also home to three National Football League teams in the 1920s. Ebbets Field was demolished in 1960 and replaced by apartment buildings.

Ebbets Field was one of several historic major league ballparks demolished in the 1960s, but more mythology and nostalgia surrounds the stadium and its demise than possibly any other defunct ballpark.
The wood used to make this pen is shown in the pictures, and is now over 100 years old.

Interestingly the wood has been painted over, in blue, many times of over those years and some has become trapped deep down in the surface cracks (see images). Some of this paint has survived the wood turning process used to make this pen (see pictures), and several thin lines of original weathered paint can be seen running the length of the pen. These are now sealed in with a tough lacquer coating. This makes this pen even more unique ,and special, as an artefact from this special baseball park.

The wood is obtained from a reputable dealer in the USA and a certificate of authenticity, provided by the supplier, will be included with the pen (see pictures). The metal pen parts are obtained from a UK provider, renowned worldwide for supplying premium pen parts for woodturners. The ballpoint pen is a twist action finial mechanism and can be supplied with black or blue ink. The fittings are in premium quality Chrome and Gunmetal titanium. This is an expensive and exclusive pen due to its historic value hence I wanted to use the highest quality pen parts in its construction.

Ebbets Field - Preserved in Wood:

For over four decades, Ebbets Field was the beating heart of Brooklyn baseball, a hallowed ground where dreams were made and legends were born. Opened in 1913, this iconic ballpark was home to the Brooklyn Dodgers, hosting some of the most unforgettable moments in sports history before its bittersweet demolition in 1960.

Ebbets Field wasn’t just a stadium—it was a shrine to the game, where the roar of Brooklyn’s loyal fans echoed through its intimate grandstands. Here, Jackie Robinson broke baseball’s color barrier in 1947, changing the sport forever. The park witnessed Roy Campanella’s powerful swings, Pee Wee Reese’s dazzling plays, and Duke Snider’s towering home runs.

The original wooden seats of Ebbets Field absorbed the energy of countless games—the cheers, the heartbreaks, and the triumphs of a team that embodied the spirit of Brooklyn. When the Dodgers left for Los Angeles and Ebbets Field was torn down, fragments of its legacy were saved, including sections of its historic grandstand seating.
