Care

Pen Care:

Now that you’ve purchased a Quality writing instrument from  how do you take proper care of the  wood, acrylic material and mechanisms?

With proper maintenance, your pen will provide years of reliable service. Our wooden pens are protected by a multiple point process, using sanding sealer, melamine lacquer with a final topcoat of hard carnauba wax., this gives the pen a strong protective coating. The woods we use are either kiln-dried, air-dried for six months, or chemically stabilised, ensuring they won’t crack under normal circumstances. However, please avoid dropping your pen.

Wood is susceptible to environmental conditions, so it’s important to take care to maintain the beauty and stability of the pen barrel(s). Your new pen is made from natural wood, just like any fine instrument made from wood some care must be taken to ensure its beauty and structural integrity.

Cautions:

Avoid leaving your pen in direct sunlight, as UV radiation can compromise the finish and prematurely age and oxidise the wood. Like most wood products, wooden pens are susceptible to the elements, so limiting exposure to strong sunlight, temperature extremes, and moisture will ensure a long life.

Never leave your pen in the car. The extreme temperature fluctuations in a car can damage or destroy your writing instrument. Treat it as you would any fine delicate instrument, and it will  withstand a lifetime of use.

Never use cleaning fluids or any abrasive substance, such as car wax, on any part of your new pen. These substances can damage the finish.

How to Protect Your Pen:

Treat your pen like any fine wooden product and protect it with a light coat of good furniture paste wax designed for wooden products. The frequency of this will depend on the type of wood, the amount used, and the pen’s condition. After proper drying, buff with a soft, clean cloth.

Please do use your pen It’s designed  and made to be written with not hidden away in a drawer.
